Day 7: 2 items
Yes! Finally, I'm down to the only two non-recyclable, non-compostable items that are daily essentials. I had a moment with a chocolate bar earlier and finally decided that the foil wrapper could go into my recycling. I hope I was right.Here are some photos of my trash bag at this point. It's just a regular plastic grocery bag, and as you can see, it's no where near full.

Great progress and great photos. This project is really getting some good publicity via the radio. Several folks have called the recycling info line I staff asking me if I've heard about people carrying their trash around!
But I do have to say:
You know darn well that that foil wrapper ain't getting recycled. Although many places will take aluminum foil, chocolate wrappers are generally either too thin, impregnated with paper fibers or made of mylar masquerading as metal. Sorry to kill-joy it, but hey: one extra piece is NOT BAD AT ALL! (and way less than I manage to do)
